2012 Toyota Prius MPV Review

March 5th, 2011 by By auto # Toyota

Toyota has released the 2012 Toyota Prius 2011 MPV at the Geneva Motor Show, known as the American All New 2011 Toyota Hybrid Minivan Prius V. Euro 2012 Toyota Prius MPV gets seven seats as the debut in early 2012. Also unlike his U.S. counterpart $ million, 2012 Toyota Prius MPV gets three middle row seats fold individually (instead of our division 60/40) and 50/50 folding third row seat. As the current Prius can return 50 mpg in 5-seater form, there is a place in the market for a 7-seater MPV style companion to the range. The vehicle spotted showed that it would be similar in size to Mazda 5 or the Kia Rondo. This size vehicle has always been popular with the smaller families, as it offers the size and space needed without the massive bulk of a full sized people carrier.

2012 Toyota Prius MPV will burn about 5.9 liters per 100 km (using U.S. combined city / highway numbers) with a hybrid powertrain and the drag coefficient of 0.29. 2012 Toyota Prius MPV is also the first non-plug-in hybrid Toyota’s lithium-ion batteries, and like its sister, the Prius gets EV, ECO, and POWER driving modes. According to DailyTech, once the Toyota Prius MPV breaks from its cover, it will no doubt be followed by General Motors own take on its Volt, the Chevrolet Volt MPV5. So let the battle of the 7-seater hybrids commence. As demand for plug-in hybrids increases, however, we expect Toyota could release a Prius MPV variant with the lithium-ion-powered setup from the plug-in Prius, which is due for the 2012 model year.
