Nissan’s midsize Pathfinder SUV Concept is shifting from a body-on-frame design to unitized construction for model year 2013.  This new car still comes with an aerodynamic design and is pumped up with a CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission. This kind of transmission is joined with a V6 engine which helps the car become the the majority of fuel efficient in the history of Nissan’s cars. The organization estimates that it will provide 25% more in fuel economy whether the car is used in the city or the highway. It also comes with an intuitive four wheel drive system that will allow it to possess a competitive towing capacity.

The current 2012 Pathfinder, which shares its body-on-frame architecture with the much larger Nissan Armada, comes with a standard 4.0-liter V6 and five-speed automatic transmission. The EPA rates that combination at 15 mpg in city driving and 22 mpg on the highway. The next-gen Pathfinder is likely to borrow heavily from the Murano, which has a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and a CVT, with EPA city/highway ratings of 18/23 mpg.

All of these features will surely bring the 2012 Nissan Pathfinder Concept at the top of the marketplace. There is still much more to be known with this particular new car that will be launched this year. However, there may have been news around the essential design of the actual Nissan Pathfinder Concept, much more is to come on it’s debut.
