2011 De Tomaso SLS (Sport Luxury Sedan) Concept

March 1st, 2011 by By auto # De Tomaso

The De Tomaso will be launched Sport Luxury Sedan  at short by De Tomaso SLS. Initially the first italian brand vehicles SLC stands for Luxury Sport Crossover. It appears those previous reports were not as farfetched as they would seem as a new De Tomaso concept car is being unveiled this week at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and has been revealed today along with some official details.

The rejuvenated De Tomaso hopes to build up to 8,000 vehicles per year, 3,000 units of the SLS annually, along with another 3,000 limousines and 2,000 coupes.  Note that a final name for the production version of the SLS will be announced later in the year, something we’re certain Mercedes-Benz will be pushing for. And will be produced at the De Tomaso Automobili S.p.A. plant, a former Pininfarina S.p.A. factory near Turin and in the Livorno factory by ex-Delphi workers. The latest concept is called the De Tomaso SLS (Sport Luxury Sedan) and its lines were penned by Pininfarina (note that the concept was previously thought to be called the SLC). It features an all-wheel drive system and is said to be capable of offering two different gasoline powerplants; either a 550 horsepower V-8 or a 300 horsepower V-6.
